Thanks to everyone who made Scotiabank Caribana 2008 a resounding success.
CBC ignited Toronto with all the rhythms and revelry of the Caribbean this summer as the media partner of the internationally renowned Scotiabank Caribana Festival 2008.

On Saturday, August 2nd, CBC hosts Christine Birak and Andrew Craig brought you an hour of spectacular mas band music, dance and costumes. Garvia Bailey met revelers along the parade route. If you missed our parade coverage, stay tuned - it will be available on this web site.
Festival Coverage
Coverage kicked off on Tuesday, July 15 as the festival launched at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto. CBC Radio One 99.1 and CBC Television's News at Six covered the stories and people that make up the Caribana experience. The main events included Scotiabank Caribana Junior Carnival, Scotiabank Caribana Gala and the Scotiabank Caribana King & Queen Show.
CBC's First Annual Calypso Tent
On Wednesday, July 30, CBC Radio 2 held a special concert at Glenn Gould Studio featuring nine former Caribana Monarchs. The concert is now available online. Crowned in past festivals, these performers' sweet calypso rhythms lifted audiences to their feet (more »).
