A multi-talented award-winning Canadian actress, Janet-Laine Green played the starring role in She’s The Mayor and lead roles in MVP, CBC’s This Is Wonderland, DOC, Blue Murder, Anne Of Green Gables The Continuing Story, Kung Fu, Road To Avonlea, Beachcombers, Medicine River, Chautauqua Girl and Seeing Things.
Recent television credits include Saving Hope, Murdoch Mysteries, The Good Witch's Charm, My Gal Sunday and the TV feature Hello It's Me.
Green is set to appear in a supporting role alongside Ethan Hawke in the upcoming Chet Baker biopic Born to be Blue, and in 2013 she starred alongside Jason Mamoa and John Pyper-Ferguson in the feature film Wolves. Other select films include The Stone Angel, Niagara Motel, Cowboys Don't Cry and Mulroney: The Opera.
Green also produces, directs and acts for her own company Briefcase Productions. She most recently produced and starred in Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf with her husband along with her son directing the production. She has received numerous award nominations including a 2000 Gemini nomination for her guest appearance on the hit series Traders, a 1990 TV Week Award for Best Actress in The Beachcombers and a 1995 Dora Award nomination for her portrayal of Margot in the Canadian Stage production of Transit To Venus.
Green has a Master’s in Directing, and has been coaching and teaching acting across Canada and abroad.
