Update: Helping senior dogs find their happy

In the Pets episode of The Stats of Life, we met Angela and her family. They ran a “hotel” for senior dogs to live out the rest of their lives happily and in peace, while also getting the care they need.

Popularity began to build around their mom-and-pop dog hotel after the show aired, so they decided to take this initiative to the next level. Their dog hotel turned into an Ontario-registered not-for-profit incorporation called Happy’s Place - Retirement Home for Dogs. They are much busier now than they were before, accepting dogs from shelters and owners who no longer are able to care for their elderly dogs. Caring for these senior dogs isn’t cheap, but they balance out financial struggles with fundraisers as well as adoption and wellness showings.
