'Priyanka is like a kid in a candy store': Canada's drag queen shops for a new outfit on CBC's 'Bollywed'
Mark Suknanan is more like family at Chandan Fashion
Mark Suknanan is a Canadian TV personality, musical artist and drag queen, better known under her stage name, Priyanka. She won the first season of Canada's Drag Race and has been breaking barriers ever since. In July 2021, she was the first drag queen to grace the cover of Canada's Elle Magazine, which was the highest-selling issue ever. And in November 2021, she was the first drag queen to perform and host a major televised show, the Canadian Country Music Awards.
Dubbed "The Queen of the North," Mark is more like family at Chandan Fashion, the scene of CBC's new docu-series, Bollywed. She's been coming to the store since she was four years old when she would accompany her mother as she shopped for new saris.
In a full-circle moment, Mark drops into Chandan Fashion to look for a new hot pink dress for an upcoming world tour. Chandan, of course, has the perfect outfit in mind. Watch the clip above.
