SPECIAL FEATURE: The history of sketch comedy on TV
"Baroness von Sketch Show broke new ground with their cutting edge sketch comedy, capturing audiences and acclaim in Canada and the U.S.," says Sally Catto, General Manager of Entertainment, Factual and Sports, CBC.
"Season after season, their sketches have continued to be clever and bold, and reflect the perspectives and experiences of women in refreshingly authentic new ways. Jennifer, Carolyn, Aurora and Meredith have changed the landscape of Canadian comedy forever, and we are so very proud of their achievement."
Every season to date of Baroness von Sketch Show is available to stream now on CBC Gem.
As for what the future holds for the Baroness stars, MacNeill will be co-starring in the new CBC television series Lady Dicks alongside Adrienne C. Moore (Orange is the New Black).
Currently in pre-production, the action-packed series Lady Dicks follows guns and gangs detective Samantha (MacNeill) and narcotics detective Kelly (Moore) who, by day, are true action heroes in their own particular way: skilled, tough, determined, and ruthless. No air date has been set.
