Last week, journalist and author Linden MacIntyre made headlines when he announced he'd be leaving The Fifth Estate, the show he's co-hosted since 1990. MacIntyre said he would be retiring, partly because he wanted to step aside so that younger journalists could take his place at the CBC.

MacIntyre has been a frequent guest on the show, but when he was here a few years ago he ran into one of those younger "journalists," a writer on The Hour (who, it turns out, really wanted a gig on The Fifth Estate). In the video above, you'll see what happened when they met in the show's kitchen.
