Photo Of The Day: Five of Saturn’s Moons

NASA's Cassini spacecraft was sent out to explore the area around the planet Saturn way back in 1997. In 2008, it completed its official mission. Following the success of its first exploration, though, NASA extended the mission to 2017.

And it's a good thing, too - this picture of five of Saturn's moons (left to right: Janus, Pandora, Enceladus, Mimas and Rhea), with the planet's rings in the background, looks like the work of a pretty talented photographer, spacecraft or otherwise. It was take in visible green light with the spacecraft's narrow angle camera. And it takes in a pretty huge area - each pixel on Rhea is equal to 4 miles:
