VIDEO OF THE DAY: NYC To Montreal In 27 Hours - The Rental Car Rally

If you believe that travel is more about the journey than the destination, check out the Rental Car Rally (aka Halloween on Wheels). The Rally involves a number of teams (usually between 20 and 60) renting cars, dressing up in costumes, and visiting random checkpoints as they make their way from city to city.

This video, created by the Daily, showcases the Rally that took place on August 18 between New York City and Montreal. Normally that's about a six-hour drive.

It took the teams in the Rally between 16 and 27 hours to make the journey. Along the way they visited an abandoned psychiatric hospital, an empty Christian amusement park called Holy Land, and an old summer resort.
