The 20th Annual Women’s Memorial March
February 14, 2011
submit to reddit

20 years ago today, Vancouver held a small memorial for a local woman who was murdered. The moment slowly gathered momentum over the years. And today, it's become a national march for murdered and missing women that takes place in most major Canadian cities, and draws thousands in Vancouver alone.

The march is a place to grieve for loved ones, to honour women who died or disappeared, and to raise awareness of violence against women.
