Despite the progress we're making with gay rights, we all know people who still think the best environment for a kid to grow up in involves a mom and a dad. Well, a small study from the U.S. might help pave the way to more open minds.

The study found 78 lesbian couples opting for pregnancy through insemination, and followed them through their first 17 years of child-rearing. In those 17 years, there were ZERO instances of physical or sexual abuse. Here's hoping more studies like this one follow.
