Public Enemy’s Fans Fund New Album
November 2, 2010
submit to reddit

Public Enemy managed to convince their fans to electronically donate $51,000 that will go to funding the recording of their new album. Since record labels and companies usually fill the album funding role, Public Enemy have essentially taken out the middle man.

For their donations, fans will receive an autographed album, signed merch, and get to hang out with the band. Not a bad deal for the $5 or $10 asked of them.

Who'd of thought a guy with an over-sized novelty clock around his neck could be so innovative. "Get the fans to invest in our music, Flaaaavaa Flaavvvvv!"
