When Ziggy Marley dropped by to talk to George a couple of weeks ago, he told us what it was like to be the son of a music legend - in particular, a legend on the level of Bob Marley, whose reach extended beyond the usual North American and European markets to touch fans around the world.

One of the legacies that Bob Marley left his children was a reverence for Africa, and last summer Ziggy and his brothers Rohan and Robbie set out on a trek across South Africa during the FIFA World Cup, in order to explore some of the continent, and to see some of the many ways that their father's music travelled around the world.

The trip was filmed in documentary style by David Alexanian, and the first of six parts airs tonight on Discovery World. Unfortunately it's not yet available in Canada, but hopefully we'll see it here soon.

Until then, we can tide ourselves over with this trailer ...

... and by re-reading our copy of 'Marijuanaman'.
