Haitian Little Leaguer Throws Opening Pitch At Jays Game
September 9, 2011

Last night George was down on the Rogers Centre field before the Jays-BoSox game to talk with Joseph Alyvns, the 16-year-old star captain of Haiti's first little league team, the Tabbare Tigers. Kid's got some heat!

The opening pitch was arranged by Artists for Peace and Justice, a fundraising effort founded by Paul Haggis to address social justice and poverty issues around the world. The immediate goal of APJ is to help the poorest areas of Haiti with education, food, and medical treatment.

If you're in Toronto for TIFF - or if you happen to live in the city - George, Paul Haggis and Gerard Butler are hosting an APJ fundraiser tonight called "Painting the Night RED", where 100% of the proceeds will go toward APJ's ongoing initiatives in Haiti.

Find out how to get involved with APJ here.
