Sixty years ago today, Ballantine Books published the very first hardcover edition of Ray Bradbury's classic dystopian science fiction novel Fahrenheit 451. In the intervening years, the novel, about a world where books are burned by roving "firemen," has gone on to become a classic, selling over 10 million copies and becoming a fixture of school curricula. Check out our gallery of great covers of Fahrenheit 451, along with artwork inspired by it.
