The holiday season is also the start of Hollywood's awards season, when film pundits of all sorts start making predictions about who will rule the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Awards and every other film competition in the works. As it also coincides with the end of the calendar year, it's the time when many of those same pundits warm to the task by listing their own picks for the top movies of the past 12 months.

Here is a sampling of just some of those picks, as we select more of the Best of the 2011 Best-of lists.
