Guest Spike Lee

Spike Lee became one of the most important filmmakers of our time in 1989 with his movie 'Do the Right Thing'.

It was a red-hot film that asked cold, hard questions about race, and helped pave the way for a new wave of African-American filmmakers. And in the more than two decades that followed, Spike has continued to explore themes of race and politics in films that are both personal ('Jungle Fever') and epic ('Malcolm X').

Spike's got opinions and lots of 'em - remember his public feud with Clint Eastwood a few years back? Wonder what he thought of Clint and the invisible chair/Obama bit?

An Academy Award nominated director, Spike has also made documentary films like 'When the Levees Broke', about the struggle people in New Orleans faced after Hurricane Katrina.

Bad 25' is a film that celebrates the 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson's 'Bad' album, and is a passionate tribute to Jackson's amazing musical talents.

This fall, the album was re-released as 'BAD 25' with a bunch of great extras, while the film had its North American premiere at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. The doc aired on television in November - DVD release TBA.
