In a few months, millions of Canadians will stop what they’re doing, turn on the TV and spend some quality time with Team Canada in Sochi.
He’ll be there with us, too. After all, it wouldn’t be the Olympics on CBC without Scott Russell. He’s covered 11 Olympics and is a passionate supporter of the Games. So much so, in fact, that when he took part in the 2014 Olympic Torch Relay in Moscow, he was overcome with emotion.
After more than 25 years with CBC Sports, Scott has done it all. He’s hosted five Commonwealth Games, the 2010 World Cup and the 2011 Women’s World Cup (we were robbed!) – and has interviewed the world’s top athletes. And before Scott heads to Sochi and the international stage, he’ll help celebrate grassroots sports in this country with the fourth annual Sports Day In Canada.
