You know how the history of the world can be explained in terms of warring clans? The House of York and the House of Lancaster. The Hatfields and the McCoys. Team Edward and Team Jacob. Okay, maybe not so much that last one, but there's no denying the impact of the Twilight films, or the success of its male lead, Robert Pattinson. 'Twilight' has made him millions - and earned him millions of fans.
But the Twilight series is going to be wrapping up this fall. So what do you do when the thing everyone loves you for is over? Start taking chances. Like starring in the new, old-school David Cronenberg film, 'Cosmopolis'. For Robert, 'Cosmopolis' is a pretty big deal, because while it seems like he's never out of the public eye, he hasn't actually been acting that long. He started as a model in his native London, and his first true big break was only in 2005 with a role in that huge movie franchise - no, the other one - 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire'.
But now, playing Eric Packer, the Wall Street mogul with a death wish, is his ultimate chance to break free from 'Twilight', show off his acting chops and maybe prove he really can sparkle.
