Author and geopolitics expert Parag Khanna has done some thinking about the state of the world today.
In fact, he's written a manifesto about how we should run the world... and he's got some impressive credentials to back up his big ideas: senior research fellow at the New America Foundation (a think tank in Washington), part of a foreign policy advisory group for Obama during his run for president, one of Esquire's 'Most Influential People of the 21st Century', and a World Economic Forum 'Young Global Leader'.
His last book 'The Second World' was an international bestseller and was translated into over a dozen languages.
Parag says that no single country can run the world anymore, and no one organization can fix it - power is totally fragmented. There are emerging countries like China & Brazil... global corporations, millionaires and billionaires, aid groups, celebrity activists... and they're all part of a new world order, which needs a new way of governing.
Parag calls it "mega-diplomacy", where all the key players (governments, business, aid organizations) work together to make the world a better place. It's all in his new book 'How to Run the World: Charting a Course to the Next Renaissance".
