Talk about paying your dues. Michael Bolton signed his first record deal at 16. It was 18 long, hard, hungry years before he had his first hit with the Otis Redding classic, “Sittin’ On The Dock By The Bay.” After that he didn’t have to wait very long for his next hit. His powerful, soulful voice, which belted out hits like “How Am I Supposed To Live Without You” and “How Can We Be Lovers?” has shared stages with the likes of Ray Charles and Luciano Pavarotti among other greats. A new book, The Soul of it All, explores his life and his career including a candid look at his most recent success – a collaboration with The Lonely Island that has so far garnered over 115 million website views.
