Over the course of his long journalism career, Mark Hertsgaard has reported on hundreds of topics - but when he came across the relatively new concept of "climate change" in the late 1980s, he found a story that he would follow for the next 20 years.
After the birth of his daughter in 2005, Mark saw climate change in a whole new light, and started researching the practical impact it would have on the world over the coming decades; around the same time, Mark learned that climate change had gone through a fundamental shift, from looming threat to inevitable reality.
