Guest Joshua Jackson

Okay, so we know Joshua Jackson is a Canadian actor.

Born and mostly raised in Vancouver (with a few stops in the U.S.), in 2010, Joshua even won a Genie for that quintessential Canadian road trip flick 'One Week.'

But south of the border, he's claimed as one of their own and currently starring as an FBI agent investigating the paranormal - spooky! - in the TV show 'Fringe.' And he may never escape his teen idol Dawson's Creek character Pacey Witter (although maybe he doesn't want to - have you ever heard of Pacey Con?).

But then again, maybe nationality isn't so important in this age of global cinema. Take a look at Joshua's new film, 'Inescapable.' Written and directed by Ruba Nadda, a Canadian with roots in Syria who made the 2009 hit 'Cairo Time,' 'Inescapable' sees Joshua playing a Canadian diplomat in Damascus who may - or may not - be helping Alexander Siddig find his missing daughter.

It's a Canadian movie that's about as non-Canadian as you can get. And that's the point: good stories know no boundaries.

The fifth and final season of 'Fringe' also represents a big moment for Joshua, as he finishes work on a series that has found a devoted audience with its hard sci-fi plotlines. What's next? We look forward to finding out.
