Guest Joel Edgerton

In early ‘90s Australia, a young drama student watched Leonardo DiCaprio in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape and said to himself "I want to do that." Little did Joel Edgerton know that one day he’d be starring opposite that same actor in Baz Luhrmann’s blinged-out 3-D version of The Great Gatsby.

So how did it happen? The day he turned 25 he got the call that Joel now refers to as the best birthday gift ever. He’d been cast as the future Darth Vader’s step-brother, in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

After Star Wars, Joel ventured over to the dark side as a former mixed-martial arts champ in the gutsy, bloody-knuckle film Warrior. You also might remember him as the alpha-male Navy SEAL going in for the kill in Zero Dark Thirty.

Joel was in Toronto for his new film Felony which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Not only did he write and produce the film, Joel stars as a cop struggling with questions of truth and lies.
