Kate Mara is not your typical Hollywood starlet. Sure, she's talented, gorgeous, and is burning up the screen these days in the buzz-worthy 'House of Cards', the Netflix original series everyone is talking about.
But Kate is grounded, private and classy in an old-school Hollywood kind of way. This might have something to do with the fact she hails from NFL royalty on both sides of her family.
One of her great grandfathers founded the New York Giants, and the other the Pittsburgh Steelers. But ever since childhood, Kate's had one dream - to act.
Her break out role was in Ang Lee's 'Brokeback Mountain', and since then, she's been busy with TV series and movies alike: '24', 'We Are Marshall', 'Shooter', 'Entourage', '127 Hours' & 'American Horror Story'.
Check her out in her latest role as an ambitious reporter Zoe Barnes in the wickedly entertaining political drama 'Houses of Cards' with Kevin Spacey.
