TV is a powerful thing: It can educate, It can entertain, and, it can turn a straight guy from Scarborough, Ontario into one of the most-loved gay characters of all time: Will Truman, from 'Will & Grace' - a.k.a. Eric McCormack.
Eric's a Hollywood star, with a Canadian heart. Raised in Toronto, he trained at the famous Stratford Festival.
He even named his son Finnegan after the beloved character on Mr. Dressup (what could be more Canadian than that?)
'Will and Grace' ran for eight seasons, and it was progressive for its time, with Eric playing a gay character not defined by his sexuality.
Now, he's breaking new ground again on a show called 'Perception'. Eric plays a crime-solving professor who's also schizophrenic.
