If you look around the world today, it seems we're having a liiiiiittle trouble trying to figure out what the deal is with this God fellow. Who is he? What's he thinking? And what does he really want for us?
Well my friends, wonder no longer, because He has written a memoir. It's called 'The Last Testament: A Memoir by God,' and it's the Almighty giving us his take on everything from Adam and Eve to American Idol.
Now, God might have received a little help from David Javerbaum (kind of like a Holy Ghostwriter, if you will). You may not know David, but he used to write for The Onion (he was responsible for such gems as 'World's Largest Metaphor Hits Iceberg') and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Eventually he became the show's exec producer at a time when almost a third of Americans under the age of 40 said they were getting their news from satirical sources.
That's a lot of responsibility to bear for a comedy writer, but it's also good news for David, because he's written some of the smartest satire around. Here's the thing, though: not everyone is laughing about the new book. Some of the big retailers like Wal-Mart have refused to carry it...which raises the question about what you can and can't joke about when it comes to religion...
