You’re a fan of Colm Feore whether or not you know it. The fact is, if you’ve watched even a handful of movies (or TV), you’ve watched Colm Feore. This guy's movies have a combined box office take of $2.4 billion and he’s worked with the best – alongside people like Russell Crowe in The Insider, John Travolta in Face/Off, and Anthony Hopkins (among many others). He’s played some of our most iconic Canadian figures – Pierre Trudeau and Glenn Gould. And now, he’s set to appear in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield.
But he’s also had a strong presence on the stage – he’s an icon of the Stratford Festival and has taken Shakespeare across the border, playing next to Denzel Washington in Julius Caesar. Now, he’s set to take on what’s been called the “Everest of Shakespeare,” the role of King Lear – in his return to Stratford. And in recognition of a long career on stage and screen, he’s being honoured at this year’s Canadian Screen Awards with the Earle Grey Award.
