It's not an overstatement to say Clara Hughes has been an inspiration for the entire nation.
In terms of athletic achievement, Clara's accomplishments are beyond compare: six Olympic medals - four is speedskating, two in cycling, making her the only person in history to win multiple Olympic medals in both the Summer and Winter Games.
Along the way, she's been a proud ambassador for Canada, a devoted humanitarian and an outstanding role model for thousands of young Canadians. In London 2012, Clara made her final Olympic appearance (or, so we think... with Clara, you can never know for sure), but her legacy goes on.
Now, as she transitions to life after competitive sport, she's devoted herself to another worthy challenge: changing the conversation about mental illness in Canada, working as a spokesperson for the Bell: Let's Talk campaign.
