Tara’s Closet: Standout Pieces
Fashion producer Tara Williams is a style icon in our offices. Here she shows us some standout pieces that set her apart, pulled together from her own closet.
The Maxi Skirt
This outfit is so comfortable it feels like you're wearing a track suit. It's dressy but also casual, the perfect combination of style and functionality.
When shopping for a full length skirt make sure it hits your ankle exactly. Anything longer will look messy, and anything shorter will look awkward.
Be sure to also look for a more sturdy fabric so the skirt is slightly weighted and drapes nicely to create a straight line.
The Ugly Sweater
In the 80s and 90s these sweaters were everywhere. In fact, you may still have one in your closet.
Don't be afraid to take a risk here and buy a sweater with bold, strange patterns and colour. When it comes to ugly sweaters, the bolder the better!
The Printed Pant
A printed pant is a great way to add colour and flare to an outfit. When wearing a printed pant, go for a neutral colour palette and a tighter pattern.
Make sure there are no pleats on the pant because it can add volume that you may not want. And always partner printed pants with neutrals on top.
