Genny’s Style School Tips

Whether you're in a wardrobe funk, or you've got closet full of clothes it never hurts to brush up on some style basics. So says fashion expert Genny Iannucci, who shares her four-step process to punch up your wardrobe.

Genny's Style School Tips

Viewer Xenia, above, had a closet full of the same clothes and never had anything to wear. So Genny took her through her closet to identify areas of opportunity and supplemented her existing pieces to breathe new life into her wardrobe. Here's how to do it yourself.

1. Edit

Edit out the excess. Eliminate any pieces you haven't worn in over a year. If it doesn't fit and flatter it should also be donated.

2. Re-Organize

Organize your remaining clothes by garment type and from lightest to darkest. This is the key to grab and go dressing in the morning.

3. Identify

Identify gaps in your wardrobe. Do you have a completely monochromatic wardrobe? Do you have pieces that can take you from work, to the weekend and out for special occasions?

4. Rebuild

Take a list of the pieces you've identified and keep it with you when shopping. Don't be impatient and build your wardrobe as you find great pieces.

Thank you to Sherway Gardens for gifting Xenia with all her looks.

Happy Shopping!
