Perfect Wedding Dresses for Your Big Day

While fashion journalist and bride-to-be Mana Mansour went bridal dress shopping, she came across six of the most gorgeous wedding dress trends for this bridal season.

Trend: Off-the-Shoulder Neckline

Dresses that have straps that are off-the-shoulder are both romantic and classic. This Legends by Romona Keveza dress is an off-the-shoulder gown made of re-embroidered lace and features a flowing A-line chapel length skirt with a scalloped hem.

This look has become extremely popular since Amal Alamuddin's wedding to George Clooney where she wore an off-the-shoulder Oscar de La Renta gown.

This is perfect for a bride who would like to show some skin, while still remaining modest. Also, the décolletage-baring neckline works in an array of fabrics and styles.

Trend: Old Hollywood Glamour

Dresses inspired by the retro old Hollywood era of the 1930s and 1940s have become a mainstay in bridal fashion. This is a V-neck, silk charmeuse gown with beaded appliqué, paired with stacked Carole Tanenbaum Vintage Bridal Collection vintage bracelets from the ‘20s, ’30s and ‘40s.

This style is great for brides that don't like the poof and want a dress crafted from a delicate fabric with draped details and a proper dose of sparkle. Also, it works great for brides that are doing a more vintage theme for their wedding; why not include the dress as well!

Trend: New Colours

This soft alabaster tulle gown is the perfect way to indulge in the coloured wedding dress trend. This trend has been seen in soft shades of light blue, gray, lavender and even mint this season!

This gown has a halter high neck alabaster and crystal bodice, full horse hair flounced skirt and chapel train.

White will forever be classic and beautiful, but there's something undeniable about the appeal of an unexpected hue in a sea of ivory. This option is perfect for brides with fun-loving, whimsical personalities.

Trend: Illusion Neckline

This trend is all about optical illusions like bodice netting (to look like skin) and overlays.

This Reem Acra dress is a cap sleeve illusion gown features silver and gold embroidery, with an ivory silk chiffon skirt.

This trend is a wonderful optical illusion through the use of embroidery, beading and even lace to make it look like it is subtly floating on a woman's body by being hand appliquéd to sheer tulle. This trend is perfect for the bride that loves both trends and classic detailing. The top is very detailed and makes an impact, but has an otherwise simple skirt. This look is finished off with an Erin Cole double comb crystal hair accessory — which looks great with updos.

Trend: Collars and High Necklines

High collars and necklines have made a huge impact in bridal fashion.

This ivory mermaid gown features a high neckline with a dropped waist in tulle and lace. It has a chapel train and cap sleeves.

This is perfect for the bride who wants to look like a queen — there's nothing more regal than a collar. With a high-neckline, no necklaces or large earrings are necessary so using the hair to add some sparkle is the perfect place, like this Pnina Tornai hairband.

Trend: Tulle Skirts

This trend is all about big full skirts of tulle or layers of different lengths of tulle done in light-as-air overlays to frothy floral skirts.

This skirt is a tiered tulle skirt, done with horsehair finished edges.

The return to fuller skirts doesn’t necessary mean added weight, these new "ball gown" skirts look and feel light as air with the use of lightweight tulle in many layers. Brides can enjoy the dramatic fullness without feeling any of the weight. For accessories, keep it clean to look modern with the fuller skirt but add drama and create an ethereal look with this full length veil!
