Fall Trends for Everyone
Fall is in the air and fashion editor Lisa Tant has seen all the major designer collections. She says there's something for everyone this fall: the 90's are back in a big way, menswear is major, outerwear is always important and pastels and bold prints are making a big impact.
Black, White and Red
This is a classic colour combination that packs a punch. The bold graphics give this look some edge.
Coat Check
'Tis the season for coats whether they're parkas, an oversized topper, cap or sleek car coat. A woman can never have enough coats. In terms of the silhouette, look for a calf-length coat and volume on top.
Faux Fur
Faux fur is so great that it's nearly impossible to tell it's not real these days! Have fun with interesting colours and wear it guilt free!
Print Masters
This mix and match trend has come up from street fashion and on to the runways. Some popular prints of the season are graphics to dark moody florals. Start with printed accessories like scarves and clutches to ease into the trend.
Pastels
Sorbet shades are great for the fall. Flattering for all ages, powdery pastels in luxurious textures really show off the softer side of fall.
Pretty in Punk
Pretty may be the opposite of what the original punk scene was all about, but the the punk look is really popular right now after an exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York The key to achieving this look is tartan, zippers and studs, but avoid wearing all three at once. This look is great for the young and adventurous. If you're feeling more modest add a pair of leather tights to maintain the edgy look.
