Budget Beauty Buys

Maybelline New York Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm, $12
BB creams are all the rage these days for good reason: they're a one-stop shop for moisturizer, primer, foundation and sunscreen. So they essentially save you tons of money. This one is great because it comes with an SPF of 30 and it really smoothes out the skin and makes it look uniform. It also leaves a nice dewy finish behind.

Quo Smoking Hot Eye Palette, $5
The secret to pulling off a budget beauty look is to go with classic colour schemes and it doesn't get more sophisticated and classic than browns, golds and champagnes. Not only do these suit everyone, and I mean everyone, you'd never know they cost just $5.

CoverGirl LashBlast Volume, $11
This brush will not only yield look-at-me lashes, the moulded brush will separate them so you have a natural effect, which makes this perfect for day and night: a value bonus! For more drama, just add a few extra coats.

Rimmel London Match Perfection Blush, $9
To make your blush go the extra mile, choose a powder formula vs. a cream one - it will last longer. This blush is great because it has two shades so you can use the darker one for contouring and really bringing out your cheekbones. The lighter shade is perfect for accenting the apples of the cheeks. A rosy-peachy hue is a safe bet, and will work on most skin tones.

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle, $11
One trick to making your beauty product go the exta mile is to look for 2-in-1 type formulas. This lip butter goes on like a rich, buttery balm but packs the same amount of pigment as a lipstick. I chose this neutral rosy shade because it can work for any occasion, and you don't need to apply it using a mirror.
