6 Extra-Cozy Ideas For Your Christmas Morning

There's nothing quite like coming down the stairs on Christmas morning and discovering a festive holiday table already set. So start a few new traditions this year with these Christmas morning ideas!

Santa Footprints

This idea is great if you've got little ones who are still enthralled by the idea of a visit from Santa Claus. All you need is artificial snow and a pair of boots: just place a boot on the ground, sprinkle a little snow around it, and keep going, all the way from the front door. The kids will just freak out.

Customized Holiday Robes

Get each family member a brand new robe, and tie them to each chair. It's the first gift of Christmas, and gets everybody in a cozy mood for the morning. You can customize them with cute little name tags.

Gift Box

This one is great if you've got slightly older family members: just take a box and fill it with all kinds of Christmas goodies, like a lottery ticket, a mini bottle of liqueur and maybe some nice chocolates and candy canes.

Cookie Centrepiece

If there's any time of the year when you're going to let your kids indulge a little bit, it's now. To make this centrepiece, bake your favourite cookies into a Christmas tree shape with a popsicle stick in them, and ice them with green icing (store-bought dough is fine if that's all you have time for!). Then insert foam blocks into any kind of wooden container or trough, cover with moss and fake snow, and stick your trees into the foam.

Christmas Morning Mimosa!

There's no better way to kick off what will surely be a long day. Layer in the following ingredients in this order: 1 teaspoon pomegranate seeds, 1.5 oz. orange juice, 1.5 oz. cranberry juice, a couple of mint leaves and enough champagne or sparkling wine to fill to the top.

Refuelling Station

Fill a camping cooler with hot chocolate and fill up shakers with sprinkles, cinnamon and mini chocolate chips. You'll also want marshmallows, candy canes and whatever else you like from the kitchen.
