Warm Grilled Prosciutto Panino
Sandwiches for supper! You'll be excited to get home and try out this grilled prosciutto sandwich from Chef Daniel Mezzolo.
Ingredients
1 loaf foccacia bread, 1 inch thick slices
200 grams prosicutto, thinly sliced
100 grams fresh mozzarella, sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 clove garlic
1/2 cup arugula
garnish pepperoncini
Preparation
- Slice focaccia into 1-inch thick slices. Brush olive oil on each slice and rub on a cut-open clove of garlic.
- Layer fresh mozzarella cheese on one slice of bread. Drape prosciutto on top. Add arugula and top with second slice of bread.
- Transfer to Panini press and let cook for a few minutes or use a stove top grill, press sandwich down on grill with a heavy pan of hand sandwich press.
- Once sandwich is golden brown on the outside, slice in half and serve with pepperoncini.
