Spiced Brandy Hot Toddy


Mixologist Simon Ho calls this warming winter cocktail a "bartender's Neo Citran." In other words, it's a delicious cocktail for any time you need to feel better.

Spiced brandy hot toddy


2 oz brandy
2 lemon wedges
to taste honey spice syrup
to taste hot water
1 stick cinnamon

Honey Spice Syrup
1 cup honey
1/2 cup water
4 sticks cinnamon
6–10 cloves


  1. Squeeze lemon wedges in a mug, leaving spent wedges in the mug.
  2. Pour 1-2 ounces of honey spice syrup over the lemons.
  3. Add brandy, and top off with hot water.
  4. Garnish with a cinnamon stick (optional)

Honey spice syrup

  1. Add all ingredients to a small pot, and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce to half over medium heat.
  3. Syrup will keep for a week or two in an airtight container in the fridge.
