Decadent S’more Pie
If you like s'mores you are going to love this pie by Stefano Faita! Make this ahead and then broil the marshmallows right before serving.
Ingredients
Crust
1 1/3 cups graham cracker crumbs1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup melted butter
Filling
3/4 to 1 cup 35% cream1 cup milk or dark chocolate chips, finely chopped
1/4 cup butter
pinch salt
Topping
1 bag marshamllowsfor serving caramel sauce
Preparation
Graham Cracker Crust
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Combine graham crumbs, sugar and melted butter.
- Add to 9-inch pie pan.
- Press the crust firmly into the bottom and up the side of the pan.
- Bake until golden and crisp, about 12 to 15 minutes. Let cool.
Milk Chocolate Filling
- Heat the whipping cream in small saucepan over medium heat. (For a denser chocolate filling, use 3/4 cup whipping cream).
- Bring cream just to a boil.
- Add hot cream over chopped chocolate and butter.
- Add pinch of salt.
- Let stand for 1 minute.
- Stir until smooth.
- Scrape chocolate filling into the graham cracker pie shell.
- Let set in fridge until chocolate is firm, about 1 to 2 hours.
Assembly
- Preheat broiler.
- Top the chocolate filling with a layer of marshmallows.
- Put pie under broiler, until marshmallows are golden brown, about 1 to 2 minutes, depending on heat of broiler.
- Serve with caramel sauce if desired.
