Make Your Own Seasoned Salts
Sometimes you want to spice things up in the kitchen, and break out from the regular routine of using the same old salt and pepper. We came across the fantastic idea of flavoured salts, and have three easy versions you can make it minutes.
Ingredients
Tuscan Herb Salt
1/2 cup kosher salt2 cups mixture of fresh sage, rosemary and thyme leaves
2 cloves garlic
Chili Lime Salt
1/2 cup kosher salt1 T chili flakes , or to taste
zest of 2 limes
Texas Salt
1 t cayenne pepper1 t ground cumin
2 T paprika
2 T garlic powder
2 T onion powder
2 T kosher salt
1 T dried oregano
1 T black pepper
Preparation
For the Tuscan Herb Salt
Add garlic clove, sage, rosemary, thyme and salt to food processor. Pulse until herbs are broken down and combined with salt. Spread mixture on baking sheet or large plate. Let dry out for at least an hour (overnight is best), then pack in a sealed container.
For the Chili Lime Salt
Combine chili flakes, lime zest and salt in a small bowl. Mix well to distribute the natural essential oils from the lime. Let dry out for at least and hour (overnight is best), then pack in a sealed container.
For the Texas Salt
Combine all ingredients and pack in a sealed container.
