Grilled Pound Cake with Pears and Clementines

Grilled Pound Cake with Pears and Clementines


Culinary adventurer Christian Pritchard shows us how to get grilling anytime with his delicious grilled dessert!

1 vanilla pound cake, cut into 3/4 inch slices
3 red pears, quartered
3 clementines or any citrus of your choice, sliced or quartered
1/4 cup icing sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
for serving vanilla ice cream
for serving maple syrup


  1. Mix together icing sugar and ginger then set aside.  
  2. Cut the pound cake into slices that are 3/4 inches thick. 
  3. Quarter and remove seeds of pears.
  4. Slice, half or quarter the clementines. 
  5. On a stovetop grill pan or on the barbecue, grill the pound cake and fruit until grill marks appear. It will take a few minutes per side. 
  6. To plate: take one to two slices of cake with a scattering of fruit, a scoop of ice cream and a drizzle of icing sugar and maple syrup.
