Country Apple Crumble Pie
750 g Ida Red apples
15 mL lemon juice
10 g brown sugar
40 g all-purpose flour
7.5 g cinnamon
160 g apple juice
15 g maple syrup
- Combine liquid ingredients in a bowl.
- Combine dry ingredients in another bowl then blend with liquid ingredients. Add apples and transfer to prepared pie shell.
- Top with 150 g crumble and fold sides overtop filling to form the galette.
- Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
- Bake at 400 F for approximately 45 minutes, until filling is bubbling.
Crumble Topping
Makes 485 g
140 g rolled oats
100 g brown sugar
40 g all-purpose flour
5 g cinnamon
100 g dry bread crumbs (or scone crumbs)
100 g melted butter
- Combine liquid ingredients with dry ingredients and blend well.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
