Ingredients
8 to 10 ounces semi sweet chocolate, chopped
1 cup chocolate hazelnut spread
1 cup crushed hazelnut wafer cookies
24 whole hazelnuts
7 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
pinch salt
1 to 1 1/2 cups finely ground hazelnuts
Preparation
- Melt semisweet chocolate on top of a double boiler (or in a medium heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water), sitrring until smooth.
- Remove from heat and add chocolate hazelnut spread and crushed wafer cookies. Stir until well combined.
- Refrigerate mixture until firm, about 1 hour.
- Roll a tablespoon of chocolate mixture around a hazelnut and shape into a ball. Repeat with remaining hazelnuts and chocolate mixture. If mixture gets too soft, refrigerate until firm.
- Melt dark chocolate with salt on top of a double boiler (or in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water), stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- Dip balls in dark chocolate and then roll in ground hazelnuts.
- Transfer balls to a baking sheet lined with parchment and refrigerate until chocolate hardens. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
