Candied Spiced Bacon

Candied Spiced Bacon

1 tbsp chili powder
8 strips bacon
1/2 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate (optional)

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Place a baking rack on top of sheet. Lay strips of bacon across rack.
  2. Mix together brown sugar and chili powder. Sprinkle mixture evenly over each strip of bacon. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until crispy. Lift bacon from rack. Eat as is or crumble and use to top ice cream.
  3. To really take it to the next level, melt chocolate in microwave or on stove in double boiler. Line a plate with parchment paper. Dip candied spiced bacon into chocolate and lay on plate to set. Enjoy!
