Bryce Wylde’s All-Natural Homemade Cough Syrup

Cough syrups sold at stores aren't cheap and have a long list of hard-to-indentify ingredients. Go the natural route this flu season with alternative health expert Bryce Wylde’s homemade cough syrup. Of course there's still no cure for the common cold, but all the ingredients for this gentle natural solution can be found at home, so you can soothe your symptoms and save money!

1 cup onions, freshly chopped
1/2 cup manuka honey
1 teaspoon cloves
2 tablespoons ginger root, freshly chopped

Place chopped onion and herbs into a stainless steel pot. Add 1/2 cup honey. Place the pot over low heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Keep the pot covered while you simmer, stirring every few minutes.
Remove from heat and strain the onions and herbs out using a sieve. Store the syrup in a glass jar with a tight lid in a dark cabinet, or refrigerator, for up to a few weeks.

Adult dose: 1 tablespoon every 4 hours for anyone over the age of 10.

Child dose:  1 teaspoon every 4 hours. Honey is not recommended for children under 1 year old.
