Anything Goes Cookie Dough

This soft and chewy cookie recipe is perfect to make into whatever you want. Try it out today with your choice of additions.

Ingredients

2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup Becel Buttery Taste Margarine
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  2. Blend Becel Buttery Taste Margarine with brown and white sugars in a large bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about three minutes).
  3. Beat in eggs and vanilla until blended.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda and salt.
  5. Gradually beat the dry mix into the wet mix until just blended.
  6. Drop dough by the tablespoon onto an ungreased baking sheet. Keep cookies two-inches apart.
  7. Bake for eight minutes or until edges are golden.
  8. Cool for two minutes on a wire rack, then remove cookies from sheets and cool completely.

Variation:  Add two cups of your favourite dried fruits, nuts or chocolate to these cookies.

Great combinations include:

  • dark chocolate and pumpkin seeds
  • milk chocolate, walnuts and coconut
  • cranberries, golden raisins and pecans
