Chef Voula Halliday
Voula Halliday is a chef, writer and artist living in Toronto with her wonderful food-loving family and Cleo, her canine kitchen scrap taster.
As an accomplished culinary professional and skilled recipe developer, Voula has worked on projects with a variety of business partners, developing recipes that deliver delicious results every time. Voula has written articles for Reader's Digest Magazine Canada and has been a contributing editor at Food & Drink magazine, and Chatelaine magazine. She learned to perfect the skill of recipe development, her greatest passion, under the leadership of Canadian food industry veteran Monda Rosenberg in the Chatelaine Test Kitchen.
As a devoted advocate of a food system that is "good, clean and fair", Voula worked in the Toronto District School system as the Chef and Coordinator for a local school Nutrition Program. Her "Gold Star" program provided delicious nutrient-rich meals made from ingredients primarily sourced locally, and her energy to educate children was expressed every day when she served up lunch to each child individually, sharing with them information about where their food comes from and how it is benefitting their overall health.
Voula is delighted to appear as a regular chef on CBC's Steven and Chris, where she cooks flavour-packed dishes with her two amazing hosts, and teaches home cooks how to turn simple ingredients into magical meals while having a whole lot of fun.
