Find Online

Check online for auctions in your area. There are many websites which provide local listings such as auctionsfind.com, auctionzip.com and theauctionadvertiser.com.

Research Beforehand

Most auctions list items for sale in advance online. Look at the items you're interested in and research on its resale value before the auction.

Arrive Early and Preview

Most auctions open up at least an hour earlier than the start time. Use this time to see items up close, check their condition, and decide if a bid is worth it in advance.

Know Your Budget

When you attend an auction you sign a contract. If you place the winning bid, you're obligated to pay the price. Be sure to set limits for yourself: know your budget and stick to it!

Read the Fine Print

Be well familiar with the terms of the auction. Most auctions now have a 10% premium so when you buy something for $100, you actually pay $110 PLUS tax.
