Easy DIY Art Projects

Wishing for some lovely original art but lacking the artisitc gene? Not to worry: We've come up with three foolproof DIY art projects that are sure to impress.

1. Bubble Art

Watercolours and Impressionist-inspired art and decor are everywhere these days. Get the look for less with this fun at-home project. Bonus: It couldn't be simpler!

Materials

  • schoolyard bubbles
  • water-soluble ink in various colours
  • watercolour paper
  • drop sheet
  • frame

Method

  1. Mix inks and bubbles together in a 1-to-1 ratio. (Mix each colour separately.)
  2. Lay paper flat on drop sheet.
  3. Blow bubbles of various colours onto paper.
  4. Allow to dry thoroughly, then frame and hang!

2. Paint Chip Art

If you can believe it, this project is actually easier than the last. All it takes is a trip to your local paint or hardware store!

Materials

  • paint chips
  • paper
  • scissors
  • spray glue

Method

  1. Cut paint chips into exact same square or rectangular shape.
  2. Arrange paint chips flat in desired pattern.
  3. Spray-glue paper and place chips on paper in prescribed pattern.
  4. Place your paint chip art in frame and voila: easy art!

3. CanvasPop Art

Finally, the simplest solution of them all. All you need is a photo! Whether it's a JPEG, Facebook photo or even a pic snapped with your phone, CanvasPop will enlarge and print it on canvas. It's a simple as uploading your photo to its website, choosing a size and entering your address!
