Navajo Know-How

This season has seen an explosion of Navajo, tribal, Aztec and ikat patterns popping up everywhere. But as fashion producer Tara Williams explains, this isn't the '80s print you might remember. (Steven and Chris admit they both rocked the look it's first—and maybe second—time around.) The latest neo-native prints are bright, bold and better than ever!

A fabulous winter coat is a great way to play with this print as seen with this Pendleton coat for Holt Renfrew (left mannequin). You can also have fun with an unexpected twist on the print with this great Marni pencil skirt, available at Holt Renfrew (centre mannequin). If you prefer a more literal approach, throw on this great maxi dress with feather embellishments from Mendocino (right mannequin). And don't stop there! Add even more feather accessories and belt to cinch in the waist.

Whether it's in a subtle stitching detail or across vibrant poncho cape, there's no end of ways you can play with this style.

A big thank you to the following companies for providing the other great accessories pictured above: Mendocino, Holt Renfrew, Roots, Winners, Suzy Shier, Augustina, 119 Corbo and Tibet Gallery.
