Professional makeup artist Marcia Garnes is always trying out the latest and greatest beauty products. Here's a look at her latest hits and misses.

In the Kit

1.Maybelline Eye Studio Master Duo Glossy 2 in 1 Liquid Eyeliner, $8

Buy it! Marcia loves this liquid liner because the applicator makes it so easy to create a thin or a thick line. It's perfect for a trendy winged eye look. The glossy finish adds a bit of glam. And finally, this product really lasts all day and night.

Insider tip: Turn the applicator to the thin side and apply a tightliner in between the lashes to thicken up the lashline.

2. Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Concealer, $10

Skip it! Great concept, poor execution. This all-in-one product comes with a liquid and solid stick concealer, with the applicator included in the tip. While the idea is great, the product doesn't have the best feel and the plastic roller ball applicator isn't the best.

3.Tweezerman Eyenhance Brow Duo Pencil, $20

Buy it! This is an all-in-one product for brows and eyes. The darker side works universally to groom and fill in the brows. The lighter side is meant to highlight the browbone and inner corners of the eyes to really make them pop!

Insider tip: Use the lighter side on the upper cheekbones and middle of the nose for a soft glow on the face.

4. Annabelle Bigshow Lipgloss, $12

Skip it! The name implies bold colour and vibrant shine. This product had neither. Pass.

5. Shu Uemura Deepsea Water Facial Mist, $25

Buy it! The aroma is so relaxing Marcia loves to use it on clients if they need to relax, or need some hydration before she begins with the makeup. If you're scent-sensitive there is an unscented version. And the deep sea water really hydrates without adding oil.

Insider tip: Marcia likes to use it in the winter to refresh makeup, and in the summer for a quick boost.
