WATCH: DIY Rag Wreath

Shannon Acheson, the talented blogger (and mother of three) behind {aka} design, shares how to make a homemade rag wreath, just one of the many fantastic DIY projects that she and her hubby, Dean, have crafted for their home. It couldn't be simpler to do (just easy three steps!) and is a steal at less than $10. Here's how:

1-2 yards fabric
2 m (or less) ribbon
scissors

  1. Cut or tear fabric into 2- x 6- to 8-in. strips. You will need more strips than you might think to make a full wreath, so relax and watch TV or something while you rip away. It's a boring job, but it's so worth it!
  2. Begin by tying a strip of fabric in a simple single knot onto your hoop/ring. Continue doing this for each strip, one after the other, around the hoop/ring. Make sure your knots are tight and close together and all face in the same direction.
  3. Once your entire hoop/ring is full, finish it off by looping a piece of ribbon (the length depends on where you are positioning your wreath) through the middle and hanging it in the location of your choice.
